What is an Instant Pot?
There is a reason (actually many reasons) Instant Pot has sold millions of units and taken the world by storm!
The Instant Pot is an electric, programmable multi-cooker that performs many functions such as pressure cooking, slow cooking, steaming and sautéing. It’s also a rice cooker, a yogurt maker, a warming pot and you can even bake it in! So many functions in one easy to use appliance.
Everyday cooking is simplified by the Instant Pot’s hands-free style of cooking. With just the push of a button the Instant Pot does all the work, in many case in much less time than traditional cooking methods. Preparing healthy nutritious home cooked meals just got a whole lot easier!
Unboxing and Set-Up
It just takes a few minutes to un-pack your Instant Pot and get it set up to use. Each model is slightly different so I would refer you to the manual that came with your Instant Pot for this quick and easy set-up. If you tossed the manual when you took the pot out the box, no worries, the official Instant Pot website has the manuals online and you can check them out here.
Once you’ve got your Instant Pot set-up you’ll want to perform a water test (Initial Test Run)
Performing the Water Test (Initial Test Run)
Whether you’re new to Pressure cooking and/or cooking in an Instant Pot you’ll want to perform a “Water Test” before cooking your first meal.
The “Water Test” is essentially an initial test run that allows you the opportunity to get familiar with the Instant Pot (and the sounds you’ll hear while the Instant Pot is on) as well as to make sure everything is operating properly. Click the image below for all the details on how to do the initial water test.
